San Antonio Suburbs: Leon Valley

Leon Valley is a quiet community within San Antonio, and it is the gateway to San Antonio’s attractions, Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, which are each just nine miles away. Leon Valley lies along State Highway 16 (also known as Bandera Road), in northwest Bexar County, near the junction of Loop 410.

Leon Valley San Antonio is also just three miles from South Texas Medical Center, four miles to the United Service Automobile Association (USAA) and just eight miles to the San Antonio International Airport.

Many of Leon Valley’s 9,000 residents work in the medical field, at the University of Texas-San Antonio or USAA. The city has its own police and fire department and was incorporated in 1952.

Leon Valley is a family-oriented community with playgrounds, ball fields, picnic areas, nature trails, and community-wide cultural events. Several, local strip malls, mass merchandisers and a farmer’s market can also be found in Leon Valley.

Leon Valley San Antonio real estate is varied and exciting. Leon Valley homes for sale range in size from cozy to massive, with many new sub-divisions boasting pools, tennis courts, and clubhouses. Several of these communities also have “in community” schools.

Homes in Leon Valley generally range in price from $150,000 to over $300,000, although smaller, starter homes can be found for under $100,000.
