Cascade Caverns Boerne

Cascade Caverns

Cascade Caverns – Boerne, TX

Want to add a little adventure to your travel to San Antonio? We know the perfect way to do this. The Cascade Caverns! They are among the best caves to visit in Texas. The Cascade Caverns are located in the town of Boerne in the state of Texas and add a lot of touristic value to the town of Boerne.

This is one of the best things about Texas. Every little town has something or the other really great about them. Hence if one wants to visit the entire state, almost a month can go in discovering all the small towns, their splendidness and the great adventures that they offer.

The Cascade Caverns have been there for a very very long time. Earlier, the cave could be accessed through a deep hole in the earth, but now steps have been created owing to the safety measures that need to be present in order to make it accessible by humans.

These stairs also pass the ‘Peep in the Deep’, which is a hole that is 60ft deep, which till the year of 1939 was the original entrance to the cave as mentioned before. Earlier, a huge portion of the cave used to be in the water. But in due course of time, the water was drained out and pathways were created.

This cave is quite active even now. When passing through the cave, one has to actually bend low to avoid the extremely small ceilings so that the other side can be approached. Since the cave is still active one has to be very careful with what they touch on the walls of the cave as there are chances that they may be still damp and wet.

One thing that sets this cave apart from other caves of Texas, is that the lighting system here is far dimmer than in the other caves. But all in all the Cascade Caverns are a wonderful experience and add more adventure to your San Antonio Travel.
